Yes, you need to go to cosmetology school, and enroll in an aesthetics course if you want to be able to do facials, waxing, basic makeup, etc, or a course in artistic makeup if you want to focus mainly on makeup. The aesthetics course I took was a year long, but by a year, I mean a full year, summer included. The artistic makeup course by the same school was 8 months long.
