No, it is nice to see a man taking care of his appearance, besides a real man takes care of himself for himself. Gay or Straight. Makeup seems to be a newer trend for men so I am not sure how much you would see that in a beauty shop but perhaps in the more high end salons.

In L.A., it is not a big deal at all. We have so many types here, gays and transgenders, metrosexuals, actors getting into some kind of character. I enjoy getting my services at a salon--why should I begrudge a guy from enjoying himself too?

It's Miss Greek, at my college so it's not big, but i still want to win, and do well lol! I was wondering, what my make-up should look like because of the lights on stage, and should i have my hair down and curled on the ends and volumized, or in an up-do, My dress is a halter, but my hair is about 3-4in below shoulder length. Depending on where you are going and your skin color is what color you can use on your eyes. But whay you can do is apply a liner to the eye (not with a pencil) but with a dark powder and a small brush. Then on the lid you can apply a dark color (a smoky gray, or very dark blue) depending on where you are going, and then above the lid you can a apply a lighter color for the glow on the eyes (a gold, or a peach) it all depends on your skin color. Remeber that you either want your eyes to pop out or your lips, not both. You can also apply the liner under the eye (you can use a pencil for this) this will bring out your eye color. You may also want to use to mascara too to bring volume to your eyes. With your hair, make sure that its a style that is right with you, and has alot of movment and volume. But the biggest beauty tip that i can give you is, know that you are beautiful and believe it. And prove it to the world. Have fun trying this! Enjoy!

ok so im going back to school shopping for all my makeup..and i need advice on where to buy and what to buy
so this is what i need:
-foundation...any good products for oily acne prone skin (i like powder more than liquid)
-mascara...i'm a mascara addict and i use mostly drugstore brands sine i have to replace it so often..so what is a great drugstore mascara brand that will work well without making my eyelashes come out or get dry and brittle?
-makeup brushes?...i need a lot, where can i buy good ones?
oh and i want to highlight my hair with very light blonde(right now its dark blonde) what is a really good home highlighting product?
and one more thing...sunless tanning lotion...not like a spray on product but a gradual tanning lotion...do those work..and if so which ones?Advice on good makeup and beauty products to buy?
Bare Minerals is well worth the money because mine has lasted me almost 8 months. And I use the same foundation when I'm doing stagework [ I'm a perfomer ] If you're doing sports or it's really hot, if you dab it a little bit will come off.. but it will not run or even come close to it like normal foundation will. If you go to their website [you can google but I think it's bareessentials.com] they have starter kits that are only around 25-35 bucks and it includes brushes, etc.
The only thing I will recommend is to replace the brushes every month. I have combination oily skin and found out the hard way that it will make your skin breakout if you don't clean the brushes and discard them accordingly. They also have mascara which works amazing. I have naturally long eyelashes, but their mascara makes them fuller and gives more dimension. I love it.
I don't know what to recommend hair-wise because I don't know your skin tone and whatnot, but I would go to a professional and ask them what they would recommend and then go from there.

I'm not sure if that's what you're looking for, but any sunless tanning lotion I've ever used has left me streaky and orange.. or yellow. A tip for avoiding dry brittle eyelashes is to put some of Alba's un-petroleum jelly on your lashes right before bed. It will keep they hydrated from the mascara and even helps them grow. The Alba brand jelly is good because it doesn't contain any of veggie or mineral oil that will clog your pores.

Powder Makeup: I am in loveee with Pur powder foundation. I have super sensitive oily skin and Pur cleared me right up. The voverage is great! They have this at Ulta. It's like $25 dollars but lasts months. Also the starter kit comes with a brush, blush, and bronzer.
Mascara: Covergirl lash blast. Crazy huge eyelashes with great separation. It's lasted me forever. The only problem is it's hard to get off. It even stays on in the pool. I recommend baby oil for removal.
Highlighting: PLEASE DO NOT HIGHLIGHT AT HOME!!! Oh it fries your hair like crazy! A great tip is to go to a school for hair, like Aveda Institute. They have the students do your hair under the watch of a teacher, so they do great. But their prices are half of what you'd pay at a great salon.
Sunless Tanning Lotion: Ocean Potion Lotion. Sold at wal-mart. A very natural looking tan that also helps to make your summer tan last longer. Best part? It smells like skittles.

O.k. so I'm old enough that I should know how to put makeup on and choose the correct makeup, but it was something I never learned growing up. Same thing with styling my hair. My mother is rather plain, has short hair and wears eye shadow and lip stick only on special occasions. Recently people have started telling me that if I wore makeup and started styling my hair I would look and feel a lot better. So, how do I figure out which makeup will look good on me? And how do I figure out which hair styles will look good? I recently had my hair cut and dyed, and I just let the stylist do what she thought looked good. Also, I have never tweezed or waxed my eyebrows and I definitely think it's time, which is less painful? I have a fairly low pain tolerance.Need some makeup and beauty tips?

You should get your eyebrows threaded I do and it only hurts a little
Personally, I think waxing is better for the eyebrows because it is quick and takes all of the hairs out at once. Your eyebrows will be red for an hour or so, but it's worth it.
You can go to a department store (Belk) and ask them to give you a make-over. The Belks near my house does make-overs for free. That way you can get an idea of what looks good on you and then you can go to a drug store and buy cheaper make-up.
For a foundation, you can try Physician's Formula loose powder. It's natural looking, but still gives you a nice, smooth look.
honostly i think the best way is do it yourself. you need to expierament with makeup if you go get it done then you wont know how to do it again. and i prefer waxing eyebrows. it looks better.

Deodorant, makeup, and beauty?
I'm a 28 year old female. I'm a vegan, and I never wear deodorant. I used to wear it everyday, but sometimes I'd forget. I realized that I didn't sweat or smell any more than I did when I remembered to apply the pit stick. I occasionally ask my husband if I stink (I put my armpit right in his face like a real woman haha), and he always says no.
I don't wear much makeup. When I do, it's usually some mascara and blush. The other day, sans makeup, one of my coworkers said I looked really nice!
I don't go to tanning beds or lay out in the sun. I'm proud to be the color that God made me - pale!

i have recently started getting more oily skin and i need a great face wash that helps get rid of pimples but also does not dry out my skin. I am using Neutrogena Acne Wash right now. It contains 2% salicylic acid. Is there any other face washes with maybe 4%?
Also, I am considering the new Pulse Perfection Mascara by Maybelline New York and Im wondering if anyone's tried it. Does it work well or is it a waste of money? And are there any other mascara brands you would suggest?

The new Pulse Perfection Mascara is a waste of money, don't bother. It's an attempted dupe of Lancome's Oscillating mascara, and that's a waste of money too. You get the same exact effect by wiggling any ol' mascara wand at the base of your lashes. It separates them so you get a fuller look.

u are using a lot of drug store brand makeup...which means..they aren't going to last long...instead of almay mascara i suggest COVERGIRL LASH BLAST%26lt;-----Very good.. and for your eyeshadow if you don't want them to crease and look sloppy by 2nd period...i suggest you buy a urban decay primer ..they sell them at Macy's for like 17 dollars %26lt;-----its sooo freaking good it makes your eyeshadow stay on all day.. and also get the eyeshadow hip duo in reckless it a light and dark purple ...everything else is good

I think the best eyeliner is by rimmel, it's a wooden stick and it doesn't burn your eyes and it's really good, so i'd get the white eyeliner in this brand.
Walgreens carries good makeup brushes.
Another thing i use and really like is maybelline full and soft mascara...it doesn't look crunchy like other mascaras. It makes your lashes full and soft..like nothings on. ( i use 2-3 strokes on my lashes)
And today i bought this stuff by Stila at sephora, and it was like 'Barbie loves stila'. It came in a paint can and it had eye shadow a blush,mascara and a lip gloss. Everything works really well. But my favorite thing is the lip gloss, it's super pigmented, and i just love it.
You can buy it by itself, it's lip gloss by stila.

i personally think in summer the lighter/sheerer the makeup the better. and when going swimming only a waterproof mascara and maybe lip gloss, plus a natural rockin' tan is all i need. its too hot to wear a lot of makeup especially during summer. Bath And Body Works has this shimmery hair lotion. It protects your hair from sun damage as well as keeps it soft and silky and puts this GORGEOUS summery golden shine in it. Looks great in all hair and kind of looks like beachy hair. I'll wear shimmery shadows if Im not going under water and maybe waterproof mascara on the top only. Then just a good spf lotion on my face and Im out the door.
Tinted moisturizer is a good product for summer.
I use Neutragena fake tan foam and no foundation. I use a little powder bronzer from Physician's formula, eye shadow, eyeliner, and mascara and I am good. Oh and chapstick too!

I watch make-up videos in YouTube all the time, and to me, what draws me to go to a make-up channel are the following. I can even go as far as saying that when I decide to make my own channel, I will definitely consider the following:
1. High-resolution video and clear sound - I want to be able to see you and hear you loud and clear, and not like it came from a webcam that's very pixelized.

I watch make-up videos in YouTube all the time, and to me, what draws me to go to a make-up channel are the following. I can even go as far as saying that when I decide to make my own channel, I will definitely consider the following:

Personally I have been expanding my collection of mineral eye shadow pigments due to the high quality and color payoff as well as the prices offered by the American companies. lining your eyes: okay I assume you are using a pencil eyeliner so want you want to do is take your ring finger and pull at the corner of your eyes(but not to hard, because you dont want to get wrinkles) then take your liner and start at the beginning of your eye gradually getting thicker as you move along, it is kinda hard to put into words so here is a video that will help you!

1) To line your eyes, close your eyes and stretch the skin of your eyes out so you have NO creases while applying the liner. Make sure you point the pencil/brush very close to the eyelash and start from outside in (or inside out--anyway you like) and make small storkes moving in (or out). Another important thing is to make sure your hand along with the liner is parellel to the ground..DO NOT tilt your hand or else you will have a thick line...
2) I like the Clinique's tinted moisterizer wih SPF..doesn't have that much coverage but works well...OR you can mix your everyday moisterizor with your foundation (half each--depending upon how much coverage you want!
3) It depends on your hair, if you have color treated hair, use a VERY mild/gentle shampoo (make just for color treated hair) If you go swimming a lot and have a lot of cholrine in your hair, you can use a cleansing shampoo (it strips away all the residue)...If you need a specific type, please provide me with more details and maybe my advice will be helpful =)

Use an eyeliner that has that twisty thingy, it makes your line thin. Thick lines tend to make you look like a panda :D
Line you waterline and your inner corner (Tear ducts)
And Line your top inner line.

Dark circles are really considered blue in color. To neutralize the blue you need a salmon/peachy color hence, her famous concealor. It IS a bit pricey $30 for the small palette however, it takes years to run out of this stuff. I've had mine for 3 years and have barely made a dent and I'm a professional make-up artist so I do faces all the time. Here's the link:

In the meantime, look at your parents. If either one of them have dark circles under their eyes, chances are your dark circles are hereditary in which case, there's not much you can do but use concealer. Since the color is really ';blueish'; you'd mix a small bit of salmon/peachy concealer with a little of your foundation and dot it under the eye area.
If neither parent has dark circles chances are you're needing more sleep. More sleep means getting to bed a little earler rather than sleeping later. Our bodies cell renewal works best at night than during the daytime. Drink plenty of water, use a sunscreen, and eat well. Those dark circles should go away. If not you can use a product like Factor-A庐 Eyes For Dark Circles by Jan Marini but make sure to LIGHTLY pat on instead of rub on.
Cucumbers, tea bags and raw meat are excellent for swelling and puffiness but don't do much for dark circles.

I am a MAC and Sephora makeup buyer but trying to cut back because I already have enough makeup but I need some extra makeup to bring to school so I can touch up during the day. I don't want to spend a lot on just a face powder compact thing...so I was going to buy the one from Sally's.

1. The evening gown depends on the dress. if you could send me the pic of the dress then i could help you out. For swimsuit have very natural look but shimmery natural. The colours woodwinked, mulch and brule look good when you put woodwinked on the led. Mulch in the crease and brule as highlight. These colours are availiable at any MAC cosmetics counter. 1. The evening gown depends on the dress. if you could send me the pic of the dress then i could help you out. For swimsuit have very natural look but shimmery natural. The colours woodwinked, mulch and brule look good when you put woodwinked on the led. Mulch in the crease and brule as highlight. These colours are availiable at any MAC cosmetics counter. for really nice skin use body scrubs they make your skin soooo soft!
Please don't shave your arms, because arms are exposed more than legs and they dry out much more easily and the skin can be damaged.
When every you get out the bath and shower, use moisturizing oils such as Johnson's or Palmer's to lock in the moisture!

For exfoliating I use a sugar scrub by Neutrogena. On my face I use Neutrogena, but the one for oily skin
For makeup I use Bare Minerals, Lancome and Estee Lauder. For drugstore makeup I like L'Oreal HIP for lip glosses, CoverGirl Lash Blast Mascara, Revlon Blush, Revlon ColorStay foundation, and L'Oreal Infallible foundationn.
For fake tanning I use L'Oreal Sublime products.
For clothes and fashion I buy what I love and I don't follow trends too much. I wear big, chunky jewelry, and I wear lots of Liz Claiborne and JJill because that's what I like. I won't wear anything I don't love because when I like my outfit the whole day goes better. I always carry a big Coach or Dooney %26amp; Burke bag.
For skincare, I use Cetaphil cleanser or Avon salicylic acid cleanser, for the day I use Burt's Bees Radiance Day Cream, and at night I use Nivea Creme mixed with a little olive oil. If I get a pimple, I use a 10% benzoyl peroxide cream. I don't go in the sun, and I always wear sunscreen.
If you use Pantene shampoo to prep your legs for shaving instead of regular soap or shaving cream, it gets your legs baby smooth soft. It's great!!!
Skin care - find a good cleanser and moisturizer for your skin type (normal, dry, combination, or oily) and use it faithfully day and evening. Also find an eye make up remover to remove your mascara before you cleanse.
Makeup - after lining your lips with lip liner, color in your entire lip area with the liner before applying lipstick. This will make the lipstick adhere better to your lips and you'll have continuous color all day.
When applying mascara hold your mirror down low but keep your head facing straight - this makes you have to look down to see the mirror and helps keep the mascara from ending up on your skin either above or below your eye.
Use bronzer to help play-down areas of your face - it plays tricks with the light helping to draw that area away to where it won't be a focus point, in the same hand use a highlighter or a light shimmery tan eyeshadow to draw areas out that you want to play up.
To cover redness on ivory or beige skin tones use a yellow concealer.

I have TONS Of drugstore makeup. I mean EVERYTHING. i don't have enough money to pull for mac myself. So how should I do it? It's for a model search/pageant.Pageant Makeup? It's beauty only.?
to start with you want to try to have even coverage. to cover the redness you want a green cover up stick. mix this with a little bit of concealer.

There's a product called Eucerin that helps redness quite a bit. I have red cheeks that used to look like I was blushing but after using this it now just looks like I have a healthy glow. I don't have to use make up blush. In the meantime, take the suggestion about the green concealer but dot tiny amounts and use your finger to blend. The heat and oil from your finger will blend it better. It's easier to add more than it is to take it off.
Since you will be seen from afar and in photos, I would go with the more champagne colors of eye shadows. Those will look stunning with your eyes and make them pop. Plus it won't clash with your dress or hair. Lots of mascara but not so much they weigh your lashes down. Line your rims of the eyes with white pencil and also at the very inner corner of your eyes. That will make you look really alert and bright.
And I imagine you may be tired from traveling and the excitement. I use this trick when I have to look good but don't exactly show it in my tired eyes. Take a Q-tip and apply Preparation H on the upper and lower lids but not right at the eye. Yes, you know what that product is for! LOL And it smells awful. But you only leave it on for about 10 minutes then wipe it off. Presto! Puffy lids are gone and you look like you just had the best night sleep ever.
Then remember what Trya says to do with smiling. Place your finger in the center of your upper lip and smile. Practice until you can hold your lip that way without the finger. That keeps you from showing too much gum while smiling. Something models have to learn how to do.

Girl you are beautiful! I would tell you all kinds of things to do with your make-up but the main thing is keep it simple. At 15 you don't want to overdo your make-up. (you'll look trashy!) I'm only a few years older then you so I'm telling you from experience. Go with some powder light pink/brown eyeshadow mascara and some gloss.
Anything more is too much. Plus like I said your beautiful. You most deff don't want to cover that up cutie!!!
Also if going to a formal/semi-formal dance only wear a little more then your daily make-up. You still want to look like yourself. I am 67 I didn't wear any make up until I was about 60; and then just a light brush of a mineral powder base and blush
My skin has always been flawless; and I have neverhad a blemish in my entire life.
Part of this is genetics, of course; however, a large portion is that my mother refused to allow me to wear makeup; and when I was young I always put lotion on my skin, and tanned beautifully without burning.
I modeled from age 16 to 22 and never wore makeup; my skin glowed, my eyes glowed, ihad a natural blush to my cheeks and women always complimented me on my complexion.

I think it is really funny, but it seems like the men always go after the woman that is all made up and the plain Jane sits alone, but as soon as the man gets involved with the all made up woman he wants her to be just a plain Jane. Then after awhile the man starts bitching and complaining that his partner doesn't keep herself up nice like when they first met and out looking at those made up women again, leaving poor plain Jane at home alone.

Tons of celebs use Bobbi Brown makeup, which you can get at specialty beauty stores like Ulta. Rachel Bilson usually has a superclean, natural look, and uses mascara and natural colored eyeliner (you can find some great ones from Maybelline and Wet n Wild) and foundation (I love the mineral foundation- it looks so natural and stays on really well). Basically, you should just get some great lengthening mascara and natural looking foundation, and maybe some eyeshadow in several skin tones. Rachel Bilson is SO beautiful, she is a great role model for makeup and everything else.

-line ur eyes with white or light gold eyeliner to make ur eyes look brighter
-after u put on lipgloss or lipstick dab some very shimmery lip gloss in the center of ur bottom lip cus it will make them look fuller
- use a moisture hair mask once a week to keep ur hair hydrated
-use bronzer to warm up ur face
- whiten ur teeth with crest strips or something like that for a prettier smile:)
-put on anti frizz cream while ur hair is still soaking wet so it can absorb before ur hair starts to dry
- put a very little bit of vasaline on ur eyelashes before u go to bed cus it can make them grow thicker and longer
- before u get out of the shower rinse ur hair with very cold water to make it shinier
- put lemon juice in hair then sit in the sun for an hour then rinse it out. do that a few times and hair will get lighter and more highlighted
- braid ur hair when it is wet for wavy hair
- get great inexpensive clothes and jewelrey and forever 21
-always smile!!!!!

MAKEUP!

~Lips: Apply lip balm before you apply lip gloss or lipstick for smoother looking lips.
~Brows: Brush your eyebrows with an eye brush before you apply brow liner.
CLOTHES!
~A red top and dark jeans always look nice if you know how to top it off.
~1 inch heels look nice in short-short, just make sure the shorts aren't too short!
