Im doing a beauty course this year but would really like to specialise in makeup?

what can I do after I complete the course to get to do this or what carrer can I do after I complete this course ?Im doing a beauty course this year but would really like to specialise in makeup?
First of all, it's great you are taking this so seriously!

If you live in or around the city, I would start looking at the top department stores to get a job at a makeup counter. You could probably start out at a Clinique or Lauder counter. You will learn a lot about skin care, general makeup application, etc.

Use this as a stepping stone. The makeup industry is quite small, believe it or not. Everyone knows everyone, or used to work with someone you know, etc. So be professional, accept extra hours and criticism, and try to learn as much as you can from your peers and bosses.

Once you establish a clientle, and a good reputation as a makeup artist, other brands will look at you, and you can move up with the company that you started with, or move up with another brand and build more skills.

This can lead to event makeup artistry, national makeup artists, counter managers, business managers, etc.

The best advice I can give you is soak in as much information and experience as you can. Makeover your friends, relatives, etc. Take pictures and start a portfolio. Do research, get books out of the library, and subscribe to fashion magazines. Ever professional makeup artist had to start out somewhere. Don't forget that!

I wish you luck!
