Anyone can look good with makeup right? Why are beauty pageant contestants allowed to put on makeup?
Actually, there are contestants that do not allow contestants to put on any makeup, or only clear lipgloss. Most suggest minimal makeup.
MANY beauty pageants with multiple age divisions do not allow contestants under 12 or 13 to wear ANY makeup (or fake hair, fake teeth, fake eyelashes, fake anything). Why are beauty pageant contestants allowed to put on makeup?
have you ever seen Tammy Fae Baker (rest her soul), that woman had no clue as to how to use mascara OR blush. she looked like she had spiders on her eyes and like a clown had done her makeup. but i agree, an all natural beauty pageant is something that i'd like to see, then you would know who the real beauties are.
NOT REALLY,I'M NOT TRYING TO BE MEAN BUT SOME PEOPLE HAVE TO PUTIN A LOT MORE WORK THEN JUST MAKEUP. SOMETIMES WE SPEND HOURS ON WAXING PLUCKING MANICURES FACIALS ECT.. IT ISN'T AS EASY AS IT SOUNDS.
Good point. Without makeup, now that's a true test of beauty.

Is this too much makeup/beauty maintenance for a 12 year old girl?
My 12 year old cousin wants to know if:
- occassionally curling her eyelashes
- getting eyebrows done
- wear lip gloss
- occassionally wearing clear mascara
is too much for a 12 year old. My mom did not let me do any of that except wear lip gloss at that age, because she knew i was too lazy/irresponsible back then. lols. She's pretty responsible, HECK she gets A+ grades, and does more chores than I do, along with a buncha activities. Since I myself, at 15 years of age, do all of that NOW, i don't know the answer to this question either.
Thanx. =]Is this too much makeup/beauty maintenance for a 12 year old girl?
It's not at all too much compared to what I mostly see at the mall nowadays!
Seriously, I see kids at the age of 10 wearing bright colored eye shadows, and deep red lip stick! It's ridiculous. Is this too much makeup/beauty maintenance for a 12 year old girl?
when i was 12, i used lipgloss and that was about it. i didn't start wearing some eyeshadow and mascara until i was 13. =] she sounds reasonable, but maybe keeping the make-up play as just for fun for now, and then after a while, she could start wearing it to school and stuff. You don't want to grow up TOO fast.
my mom would KILL me lol if i did all of those things at 12 (im 12 yrs old ) but she says lip gloss is fine... no matter how much things she does at the house, she has like 50+ yrs to wear makeup, my mom says that shes gonna pluck my eyebrows when i turn 15! and my daddy would absolutely kill me if i wear makeup, heck, he says that im allowed 2 wear lipstick when im 21! lol. but shes not rly wearing any powders or foundation crap so it seems alright for her...
No, it's fine. Lip gloss and clear mascara is the maximum a 12 year old should wear. Curling eyelashes is fine.
The eyebrows thing is very personal. While some people say it's an ';adult'; thing to do, it sucks when you are young and people tease you for your unibrow, so I say if you need it get it done.
hmm i don't think so IF SHE WANTS TO DO IT AND HER PARENTS ALLOW HER TO DO IT GO AHEAD...ther's no age limit unless she was lik 7 that would be weird..
my eyebrows looked weird when i was 13 and i started doing my eyebrows back then too so it's okay..
clear mascara..what's that?but i guess she can whatever she likes...FOUNDATION IS A BIG NO-NO for her though just in case she wants to use that because then she might ruin hr skin...
curling her eyelashes, tell her to do it with water..it'll be more natural and she wont hurt her eyelashes lik that...just curl it with water and her fingers,...it looks cooler
I think it's fine!! When I was 12, I wore eye shaddow and lip gloss. And I wore less than most the girls my age!! At 13, I wore eye shaddow, eye liner, powder, lip gloss and occasionaly mascara and curling my eyelashes. I think she's wearing just enough for her age!!
Please answer mine!!
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;鈥?/a>
i think it's fine. she's only really wearing clear mascara and lip gloss, and clear mascara doesn't even show up. girls start doing their eyebrows around her age, and i don't even do mine consistently now (im 13). i think its fine, as long as the lip gloss isn't like bright pink or bright red..or blue or something ;).
i woud think that isnt too much makup at the age of 12 because at 12 years old you are becoming a teenager so i think that they should try out some products for late life
also this will attract boys to you as you never know that one day that man could be ur husband and only makup broght you together
x
nah, i dont really think so. she doesnt seem like a person who really wants to grow up fast, and seems very responsible, so i wouldn't worry about that. clear mascara and lip gloss is no big deal. don't think its too much maintenance.
i think that is fine but definately not any more than that. make sure that when she gets her eyebrows done they are not to thin first time round. they should look tidy and natural at her age
whats wrong with pretty much not wearing any makeup and just getting your eyebrows down lol? sounds absolutley reasonable
Sounds perfect for 12. She's not wearing too much, which is the most important part.
i say mascara, lipgloss, blush and ocassional coverup is a good ammount
no thats fine
wait the getting eyebrows done might be too much
that is pretty much wearing no make up at all
thats nothing to worry about all perfectly normal for her age. I wore more than that then.
no! i think that's great! and she isn't even using eyeliner yet so that's gud :]
I don't think that's too much. If make-up makes face your look pretty then go for it! That's my opinion
its good
no that s not too much at all

How much makeup/beauty things to get for school?10 pts....?
when i go school shopping im going to get makeup and stuff like deoderant and makeup remover and stuff like that soooo I need to know what makeup i should get!I have sandy blonde hair, fair-tanskin,green eyes.
Soooo
Eyeshadow:What colors?what type like shimmery,regular ,etc.how many.
Lipgloss:how many?
Eyeshadow brushes?how many.
How many hair products?i usually straighten it so tell me what type of products to get.
How many different blushes/bronzers?How much makeup/beauty things to get for school?10 pts....?
Eyeshadow: i'd get a shimmery champagne, for sure, and maybe a taupe colour, they're good basics that you can wear every day :]
Lipgloss: i'd get 3 basics, a neutral, a clear, and then a brighter tinted one
Eyeshadow brushes: i just use one, but if you want to get technical, i would suggest a larger, softer brush for the eyelid and a thin/tough brush for near the lash line
How many hair products: if you straighten, you should be getting shampoo and conditioner for damaged hair, just in case. and i would get a leave in conditioner or frizz ease spray to leave in before straightening. i like the aussie brand for that
How many different blushes/bronzers? bronzers, i would say one, just a tone darker than your skin, with a slightly golden tint, and blushes i recommend, would be neutral, a rosy/peachy tone on top of your cheek bones! How much makeup/beauty things to get for school?10 pts....?
Oooh! Sounds fun! You are the same complexion as me! =)
Eyeshadow: Colors are IN! So if you arn't afraid of them I would reccomend different shades of pink for your green eyes! Pink + Green = Awesome! =) I LOVE getting anything sparkly or sheer. I reccomend going to Macys and looking at their mineral makeup. Or, if price is not an issue going to Sephora. They will give you a COMPLETE makeover 4 free! So you can try before you buy!!! =)
Lipgloss: Get 2. 1 that is for home or going out, and the other for yout locker/backpack! Get a color that looks mauve on you. Colors look different on everyone so you NEED to try before you buy!
Brushes: Here is what you need.
1) For Powder you put on your entire face to give it a complete look
2) A eyeliner brush (that's what I call it) You can use it as a sub for eyeliner (bush in black) OR put some darker color in your crease.
3) A bronzer brush
4) A highlighter brush (to put light colors under brow)
5) A round brush to put normal eyeshadow colors on.
They have sets with all these available at Target, Sephora, etc!
If you straighten I would reccomend getting Tresemme's Heat Protectant Spray. My friend uses it and her hair is soft and silky after straightening! You might also want to buy a shine spray for you to put on after straightening for extra shine.
If you can stand hairspray in your hair get that too to keep it place! Get a strong one so it might survive PE!
Good luck!!!
EDIT: You just need ONE (but if you want two) blushes. One lighter blush (for school and daytime) and a darker bluch for night and dates.
ONE bronzer. That's all you need!
ok so eyeshadow invest in an eyeshadow pallet or quad designed for green eyes...almay has a good range
invest in an awesome lipbalm and a lipgloss...use it all before getting more you dont want too much lipgloss
you need a good liner brush....jemma kid has a line and define eyeshadow brush which is double ended its great!! and eco tools has a good eyeshadow brush for all over application...also a blending brush if you want
get a good heat protectant spray redken has a great range of hair styiling products and some good hairspray i suggest sunsilk because it smells good :P
then bronzer of course you need one good bronzer the mac style warrior collection has a new colour and it is DIVINE and then a great blush..if you know what natio is they have great blushes or mac or napoleon or like....covergirl or almay :)
its better to get good quality products and use them all rather than getting heaps of cheap stuff
hope this helps :) x
How old are you first of all... I'll answer this assuming that you're atleast 16...
Right now it's pretty popular to have a natural look... Get a foundation that's as close to your natural skin tone as possible, a light colored blush, and powdered bronzer... Use the foundation all over then put on alittle bit of blush on your cheekbones then put a thin layer of bronzer over the blush... I don't really wear eyeshadow though I just put on a little eyeliner and some mascara...
As for hair products, get a good ceramic straightener for sure... and a good thermal spray to keep your hair healthy...
eyeshadow :) get greens browns and pinks to brink out your eyes
lipgloss just get plain clear color sometimes looks trampy
hair/ if you straighten it you will want to get heat protection to put in it after you get out of the shower so that was you dont fry your hair
keep the bronzes and blush to a minimum you dont want to look fake.
all the others you dotn have to worry about how many :) just have fun :)
well get like pinks browns and earthy tones for eye shadows and get some shiney and some not.
Lip gloss just get a couple of the normal colors that look good with you
i only get like 4 one or two for my purse and two for home incase i lose a couple
well if i was you i would use bad head products to help your hair it helps it and makes it healther even the flat iron spray
and i would just get normal cover up
And dont forget to get eye liner unless you dont wear any
A plain eye shadow is always pretty and colors such as white and tans don't look too flashy u depending on how heavy and how much u put on depends, you only should need 3 or 4 lip glosses ,1or2 brushes and alot of the swabby things ,umm....o 4 hair products get like moisturizes and iron smoother helps paul mitchel has alot of great stuff.and not to many blushes i think.
i think you should get 3 eye shadows 1 for the lid 1 for the crease and 1 for the highlight and get all shimmery you should get bout 2 gloss get 3 eye shadow brushes get 0 hair products (you will just be destroying your hair) and get 1 blush and 1 bronzer................
hope this was helpful have fun buying makep!!!
Sometimes less is more. Keep it light. Neutral and earth tone shades go well with green eyes. So a shadow compact with 2 colors is enough. Get a peach tone blush. Skip the bronzer if you're fair skinned.
Go with a peachy lip gloss too. If you straighten your hair a lot you probably don't need much info on that.
get shimmery blues, and golds(preferably get mac 4 makeup)
u can also ask the people at mac 2 help u in finding what goes with ur eyes and blush that can complement ur cheeks
buy 4 different shades of lip gloss like pink, clear, red, glitter pink
preferably buy dove or pantenne to keep ur hair healthy from all the damage u are doing to ur hair from straighting
Honestly..u dont need alot of makeup
makeup is so bad for the skin and well guys dont even digg chicks who r al lfake like dat
buuuutttt

Nails or makeup...Beauty school...HELP!!! opinions PLEASE!! 10 points to best answer :)?
i want to go to beauty school before i go to college, yes, i want to do both. But i cannot decide if i want to be a nail technichian%26lt;(sorry bout spelling) or a makeup artist. I REALLY CANNOT DECIDE. i just need opinions and advice. Which would be better? if i did makeup i could work at a makeup counter at a nice dept. store, right? Would that be better than nails, i dunno? Which one has better hours and better pay? Which would be cheaper to get a license to do?Im trying to consider which one would have more job oppurtunities and be more exciting as far as jobs while in college... this makes me think makeup, but i really have no clue!!! i could use any information and opinions from anyone that knows anything...but anyones opinion is useful.....THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)Nails or makeup...Beauty school...HELP!!! opinions PLEASE!! 10 points to best answer :)?
I have been a cosmetologist for 38 years. So I can do it all hair, skin, makeup, nails. But if you want to just do one of the two you mentioned. I would say there is more jobs for doing nails, it can be fun inter acting with other workers. Skin ie makeup you are more in quite mood one on one with client, requires more of a serious temperament. To do makeup in a store most times you do not have to have beauty school. If your in Hollywood and would do makeup for movies then there is lots of money... Most times you would work in spa type salon and not do just makeup but skin care. Then you can make some good money. wishing you the best. Look for a job in each area and see what is out there for you.Nails or makeup...Beauty school...HELP!!! opinions PLEASE!! 10 points to best answer :)?
well you have to think, what do you like to do better?
do you have more fun painting peoples nails or putting make up on people?
personally i would go for make up, i love it soo much.
if you go for make up you could always get a job at the make up counters at macy's or become a make up artist for a ritzy salon.
just remeber to do what you love!
hope i helped
I think it would be easier to find a job for nails....prob wouldn't pay as much tho but still, more jobs available.
make up def. that is really an art, not that nails arent but i would still go with make up
makeup!!! there are more ways to make people up!!

Questions about makeup/beauty products.?
okay i need your opinions on the best powder mineral makeup.
preferabally the brand and what the powder is called.
also what kind of deoderant works the best for you? im a heavy sweater during/after phyed and no deoderant seems to work. i use mens deoderant as well so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
lastly, what kind of face wash works best for you/ what do you like? i want something that leaves my face soft/ not oily, and prevents/treats acne/breakouts.
10 points for best answer.
oh wait.. one more. best self tanner that wont turn me orange!!! hahahahah.Questions about makeup/beauty products.?
powder=maybelline mineral power it has 8 shades, improves ur skin and it is not oily, and it is like 6 or 7 dolloras at walmart
i would suggest DOVe powder deoderant its smell nice its fabulaous 3 or 4 dolloras aat walmart
Clean and Clear face wash...it has minerals bubbles that clean out those pours $5 at walmart
Jergans self tanner...amazing in a week u defff see a change and at walmart u get a deal u get both the face and body tanner for $7..its amazing
all this at WalmartQuestions about makeup/beauty products.?
I have 2 suggestions. I have been using ';Rimmel'; which has an under coat for evening the skin. I can't believe how beautiful my skin feels and looks, and it lasts for over 12 hours without feeling sweaty or clogged up, still looks natural...REALLY!
Also for oily skin, a rice based powder is very good.
Deodorant..First thing is to Scrub your pits with a Washcloth and a good soap ( Safegaurd?) so that the waxy buildup of deodorant is released and your pores can let some stink evaporate freely.
Many of us have to re-apply, cause between anti-perspirants and deodorants there just isn't enough anti-smell. Secret and right gaurd are pretty good, no garauntees. There is some theory that says your feet have to breathe or your B.O. will come out your pits, so try to be more natural in letting your tootsies have free time, and exfoliate!!
Okay, everything I used was making my sensitive skin get a rash and dry up...Until I used Burt's Bee's facial cleanser, I mean it is golden and my skin is soft and healthy after cleansing.
Tan? Wear a hat and use a natural sunscreen while you are walking1
mineral makeup: bare minerals $25
http://sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?鈥?/a>
or everyday minerals
http://www.everydayminerals.com/g?t=foun鈥?/a>
deodorant- DON'T BUY THE DISGUSTING ALMAY GEL DEODORANT IT STINKS (SMELL %26amp; HOW WELL IT WORKS)
i use the ban satin breeze and it works really well
i use neutrogena face wash and it has salicylic acid in it to prevent/treat acne
http://www.neutrogena.com/ProductsDetail鈥?/a>
self tanner- i like jergens
http://www.drugstore.com/templates/brows鈥?/a>
the best mineral makeup is definitely bare minerals.
it is amazing. so go buy it.
the deodorant that worked best for me was secret clinical strength.
right now, i use clean and clear morning burst, and i get compliments on how clear my face is. but when i do get zits here and there, i use nuetrogena on the spot treatment. it works really well if you use it until the zit goes away.
and last.... the best self tanner is dove. it smells better than others, and i haven't turned orange from it. but with any self tanner, don't use way too much.
yup thats it.
1.) L'oreal Bare Naturale. I use it as a concealer with a tiny brush more than a foundation but it still works good.
2.) I use Degree for Women Pure Oxygen. It works good, and it's cheap ($3.79)
3.) Lately, I've been using Fresh Farmacy from LUSH...IT IS THE BEST FACEWASH EVER!!! It smells amazing and controls oil and breakouts pretty well. http://usa.lush.com/cgi-bin/lushdb/00077鈥?/a> and here's a list of store in North America: http://usa.lush.com/cgi-bin/lushdb/store鈥?/a>
4.) My sister uses L'oreal Sublime. She is naturally pale, and she's pretty tan after using it.
In my opinion, aularale.com/7002 has the best skin care products - face to feet - period.
Deodorant - Suave, Dry Idea, Degree - also dust underarms w/baby powder after applying.
Self tanner - lost.
go to totalbeatuy.com they have reviews of everything. Anti perspirents contain alluminum that is very harmful for your brain. Your body needs to sweat to get rid of toxins and if you try to stop that you get metal build up which is very bad for you.
- the brand elf www.eyeslipsface.com
- Try secret clinical strength
- try proactive three step system and or St. Ives Scrub the one w/ absorbing silica - the beads are not harsh like in the original one and it makes You skin feel super soft.
makeup bare escentuals at sephora or the BE boutiques. cleanser philosophy purity made simple- also at sephora or philosophy.com
The answer for all your questions is in www.jmbeautytips.com
I can't answer the makeup question, but I can answer the deoderant one. I also am a heavy sweater and I found that nothing seemed to work for me, I have also tried using guys deoderant and that worked for a while. Now I found a deoderant called Secret clinical strength, it comes in a box on the shelf where your normal deoderant would be found. There are about two different scents, however the deoderant will run approximately $8. This deoderant seems to have worked wonders for me. It seems like I don't sweat any more. And if I do its not that much at all. Good luck and I hope you can find it and it works for you too. As for face wash I use a brand called Oxy maximum strength, I use it in the morning and then at night I use one called clean and clear. I switch off using them like that so they don't dry down my face. Sorry but that is all the answers I can give, I don't know any good answers for your other questions. Hope this little bit helps.
mineral makeup- i use bare minerals never had a problem with them and it gives me great coverage. look for the starter kit on ebay for great prices. u get two foundation 3 brushes a bronzing type of powder and a finishing powder along with a either a cleanser or a mattifying liquid (depends on the seller)
deodorant- i use ban ...personally i dont perspire much ...i use it evrey couple of days. i dunno. i dont get much armpit stench.
face wash- i cleanse my face with the dove beauty bar(reg.) it doesnt break me out(i used to have bad skin problems a couple of years ago...and dove seems to balance my skin out) leaves my skin soft, clean n moisturized.
self tanner- best by far , i bought on qvc its called ';toni brattin's beauty secret'; self tanner.
its awesome. gives a great natural looking tan after several applications. u look nice n brown not orange. awesome
I don麓t know. I never use make 鈥?up. Only a little of pencil of lip, but with color opaque. but I like clean my face bleding cream for baby and sugar. And it put my face very smoothcover girl

Why are some girls so against makeup when it's just to enhance your beauty?
Face it, ALL women could use makeup. There's no reason to look like a crack whore. I look completely natural w/makeup. But why not improve your appearance if you can? Every woman I know who says they don't wear makeup because they prefer the ';natural look'; could definitely use some. You still need makeup to pull off a natural look. I think when you wear makeup and have your hair nice and dress nice, it shows you care about your appearance and shows confidence. Why are some girls so against makeup when it's just to enhance your beauty?
I love wearing make up, I experiment with different colours and looks all the time, I don't always wear it though. Don't listen to anyone else, do what makes you happyWhy are some girls so against makeup when it's just to enhance your beauty?
well lets see maybe because some girls dont want to waste ther time putting on makeup I for one cant leave the house without it not because i feel like i NEED TO HAVE IT but because it makes me feel a little bit more confident. some people just dont care.
we just don't want to look fake and hide behind a mask.
yeah but when u go out its one thing...but jeez when u cant leave the house with out it u really need help.....really for me a waste of money... only when i go out to clubs or what have u....its not that big of a deal FACE IT
i think some girls just might be in fear of changing who they are (depending on age). maybe feeling some insecurity. everyone has their opinions. if you think make up is the greatest thing, HONEY GOOD FOR YOU! you discovered something that you like and will use all the time. i think make up is a good investment =]
I wear it occasionally, but not often--maybe once a month. I could care less, and my significant other doesn't like it at all--he sees it as hiding and prefers me without it. I'm happy to comply.
Because some girls think that they're hiding who they really are, and they're disguising themselves and getting dressed up for somebody else and not for themselves. And some girls truly do feel better with the natural look, regardless of what other people think of how they look. They can't be bothered with other people's opinions on petty things such as how they look.
you are definetly right. i think that every woman looks good in a little bit of makeup, and theres no reason makeup cant look natural.yes, i would agree with the dressing nice and having your hair nice too.it is a sign of confidence. many women try to say makeup means girls are insecure, but i would disagree. if you look good without it, one simple change can make you look even better, like if the only problem you have is bags under your eyes, even a little bit of mascara will put the attention on your eyes and the bags are less noticable, and then if you could just use a little color, bronzer adds instant glow! i love my makeup and i feel more confident and beautiful with it, i recommend it to many women
';ALL women could use makeup?';
Sorry, I beg to differ. It's a personal choice and many women feel beautiful based on their personality %26amp; intelligence and natural looks.
Think about what you are saying!! Makeup does not contain confidence. You need that with or without the makeup. Because a women doesn't wear makeup doesnt mean you should compare them to a crack ho. Ho's and tricks wear lots of makeup, so would it be fair to make a similar statement about individuals who make a personal choice to use makeup everyday. Sounds like you got some personal issues you need to resolve.
I honestly agree with you... I personally only think to put on makeup when I'm NOT at work. During the week when I work I wake in just enough time to get ready. So my point is some women do not incorporate that into there day so it's easy to say they like themselves natural. I want to really start caring more about my appearance but it takes money, time , and effort. also some women dont know how to correctly apply make up which can probably push them away from using it. Put I do agree make up does make you look more polished even if it is mascara and a pretty lip gloss.
Well. I think you should do as you fell .Whatever makes you happy is the right answer for you.You don't need anyone to decide for you, and I think you already have your answer but you just need some aproove.
I agree with your friends, the natural look is better, but, at the same time, it is nice to put on a light layer of makeup for those special occasions.
as look as you look natural with make up its fine but when you pile it on then it makes you look cheap
Make up is fine if you learn how to apply it and don't leave it on too long.
The crack whore comment was a bit much.
